I have quite a few promo postcards lying around, and most of them are old and not much use anymore. So I’m giving away three packs of 4 postcards each. The purple ones have a little white doodle in the front (like so), but otherwise, all the postcards are untouched. So you can either keep them to yourself as mini-prints, or actually use them.

All you have to do is reblog this post* and you’ll be included in the random selection! This will be running from now, throughout the weekend, until Monday 29th, morning (GMT). I’ll announce the 3 winners shortly after. I’ll send these anywhere in the world.

*Reblogs only! Likes are sweet, but won’t count.

If there’s a lot of interest I might dig into my stuff and add a few more goodies so a few more people will get something.

Reblog for the morning folk!

I don't know if you work in acrylics (I'll ask anyway just in case) but do you have any tips? I usually work in watercolor and it's been years since I've touched gesso or medium.

I work in gouache! I never got the hang of using acrylics, so I don’t have any great tips.

However, if I were to try acrylic again I would try a bunch of different mediums to make the acrylic work in a way that works for me. Last time I browsed the acrylic mediums aisle there were a ton of things that alter the way acrylic behaves - you can use it in thin washes like watercolor, or build up layers slowly, or keep it thick and blend it before it dries, you can make your canvas textured or smooth by varying how thickly you apply the paint.

SO I guess my tip would be to try acrylic every which way until you’re satisfied with the results and the process. I’ve been thinking of trying it again and that would be my approach too.

Hope this helps!

(P.S. I can’t tell when this ask was sent, and I just now noticed it so sorry if this went unanswered for a while!)

So I started over because I wanted to see if I could do better… I’m liking the new one on the left, and I’m still pretty excited about finishing it, I was worried I would lose some drive with a restart

Progress pics for this wip that I just now got back to work on, I started it a couple couple weeks ago.
The gouache is getting thick since I’ve done a lot of gut edits rather than prior planning. The first layers of paint might interfere with the new layers I want to do, so I may need to restart it….
If I do, bigger paper may be in order
